Here is a group mixer/icebreaker you can use that’s a great standby. Have all your students stand in the middle of the room in a group. Before reading each statement designate one side of the room for any student that has never done the act and one side for the ones who have. After each round have them come back to the middle.

Example: “I have never used myspace.” Kids who haven’t go to the left side of the room kids who have to the right. Then have them come back to the middle for the next “never have.”

I’ve made a list to get you started but you can come up with better ones. Not knowing the personality of the group and what they can tolerate it’s up to you to decide if you want to do funnier ones like, “I have never passed gas in class.” You get the idea.

Feel free to comment with better elements.

Used a landline phone.
Mailed a personal letter.
Pumped my own gas in a car.
Gone 24 hours without sleep.
Ridden on horseback.
Climbed a mountain.
Been in a car wreck.
Drawn or painted a self-portrait.
Balanced a checkbook.
Had a bloody nose.
Been in a fistfight.
Turned in a late paper or taken a zero.
Played a full game of golf.
Ridden on a train or subway.
Tried sushi.
Traveled out of the country.
Been white water rafting.
