Here’s another quirky idea I cam across from My Modern Met. This lamp was created for a designer as an inventive way to showcase her work. Replicating her furniture designs would be uber expensive. For you a lamp that is constructed from garage sale items, doll furniture, and nick-knacks would be more reasonable. You can use this in a youth room for eye candy. You could also use these in a series on the home or family or other expression. Give this project to a college kid with a budget or allotment of money. They could do it. Hint: You can use a regular corded bulb and add a sphere of chicken wire as your base. Use wire to stabilize the sphere and help it retain it’s shape with the added weight. Use a low watt bulb so you don’t scorch the nick-knacks. Make sure your sphere is generously large to keep objects and wire framing from the bulb’s heat reach.
