Chris Storms of YoungLife submitted to the Stash a previous post he wrote on google docs and google maps tool. I love the video he put together as well. Check out what he shares with us in this video tutorial.

Google Docs has a gadget that’s perfect for groups that change their meeting locations. For our next semester of Young Life Club, which we hold in different kids’ houses, I’m going to use Google Docs to create a map. It’s really simple, really quick, and it can be embedded anywhere you’d like so everyone who needs to see it can see it.

That is very helpful as we have been thinking about trying home groups but didn’t know how to best communicate the locations to everyone. How would this work if you have low-income families that don’t have regular access to the internet? Ideas?

Great question Jonathan. My wife leads NW Austin YoungLives. YoungLives is younglife for teen moms. I don’t think there is an easy solution for this challenge. My wife’s mentor moms actually pick up the girls and their babies. It’s a logistical challenge. They are in the same situation so the mentor moms are the ones who are empowering the girls to go. There are 2-3 girls per mentor mom. Just a thought.
