BEFORE I DIE WALL

Check out this installation in a community in New Orleans. An individual painted the side of an abandoned building with chalkboard paint. They then came back and stenciled with spray paint the words, “Before I die” followed with a line.

The community writes their desires on the wall. I especially like this use of a common strainer as a means to hold sticks of chalk.

When I see this installation I can’t help but think about how awesome this would be for a teaching series or program element. I’m sure you can find some more ideas. You can see the whole piece here. You can also take a look at chalk and chalk paint with the links below.
