Hello there. Sorry about the interruption of resources but I wanted to check in. I found this video “Desk -Music and Sound Design.” It’s a great look into current realities surrounding the church, non profits, and businesses. The desk and office have changed. I lost a physical office a year ago to make room for another staff member at my work. I office everywhere from an open cubicle for all to use, to my home, to Starbucks. It’s pretty much in sync with my schedule and where I need to be. Today I’m at Roasters here in Austin, Texas. That being said I would love to know my readers a bit more. Answer this survey and then watch the video if you like.

I am asked to work only in the office except when doing home visits or youth events that require being outside of the church. I don’t think it’s realistic of true ministry since the biggest ministry field is outside the church walls. Leonard Sweet suggests forgetting about the church building and seeking to minister where your people are at, and I am inclined to agree with him. My congregation leaders aren’t, though!

I agree Sarah. I’m lucky we ran out of office space. I have a friend that has to be at his office and is not free to go when he wants. That’s a prison!

I work in my office, my house and a local coffee shop. I like getting out of the office and working other places. Especially when I am preparing a talk. I think being out with “the people” helps me to focus my message on people who quite likely don’t go to church or have a relationship with God.
