Youth Pastor Adam Reed submitted this game today. I love it. We’re gonna play it tonight in our high school so I’m grateful for Adam sharing some Stash from his youth group. In Adam’s own words here is how you play.

The game is reverse charades. Divide your group in half and pick one person from each team to come to the front. Have the volunteers sit in chairs facing their team. The leader of the game will stand behind the volunteers and hold up a word that needs to be acted out. The difference is that the whole group is doing the acting and the volunteers are doing the guessing. It’s really a wild and crazy game, and it gets the whole group playing along.

You can also purchase Reverse Charades the board game that was created by youth worker Bryce Porter.

Sweet! Thanks so much for sharing. If anyone else would like to submit a game we are happy to post it to the world and create the graphic for those in the field to use.

We played it yesterday morning and it was a blast. We did it with a plain category of Movies to make it a little more straight forward. I would recommend letting the groups of students play with being able to talk as well as act out. I told them they could say anything BUT the actual title or “sounds like” or “rhymes with.” We did it that way and the chaos from all the screaming was definitely part of the fun. Students loved it!

What is your favorite for them to act out? When we do charades we make them put two random things together, like chocolate umbrella.

I took the title slide, and added the words (did the movie idea) underneath the title, since my contestants will be sitting in chairs with the screens behind them. Looking forward to trying this game!

Thought of this game this morning, and thought it would be cool to try giving everyone in the a group a different word, then have the person guess as many as they can in 30 seconds, and when their word is guessed they sit down
