FOOD DROP SERVICE PROJECT

This event is sometimes called Ding Dong Ditch. Students gather with their leaders in groups. They are given a grocery list for Thanksgiving Dinner, Christmas Dinner, or just food if you try this on a non-holiday night. The students should bring enough money to combine with other students so they can purchase the food together. After they buy the food they take it to a home where a family in need has been identified before hand. The students take the food to the doorstep and go back to their cars or car. One student knocks on the door after everyone is in their car parked up the street and runs.

You can use the template above for a slide, postcard, or flyer. You can probably make one on your own that’s better. Here is an example of the one I used this month for the group I lead here in Austin. Click to enlarge.

I really love this! We’ve been trying to plan something just like this since before Christmas–this gives us the direction we needed. Thanks!
